Sanlucar de Barrameda is a picturesque town right in the mouth of the river Guadalquivir where saltmarshes, salt pan areas, lakes, pinewoods, fish farms and vineyards can be found, all full of birdlife. This is where the Duke of Medina Sidonia, one of Spain´s most famous lords lived, next to his favourite hunting area known as Coto Doñana.

All these habitats create an excellent site for birds and it is a favourite spot for Andalucian local birders because it holds species as interesting as, Little Tern, White-headed Duck, Marbled Duck, Slender-billed Gulls, Osprey, Flamingo, Spoonbill, Spectacled Warbler, Lesser and Greater Short-toed Larks, Rufous-tailed Scrub Robin, etc.
