Whales and dolphins

You are here

Between late February and November is prime time to join our whale and dolphin trips. The excursion lasts approximately 2.5 hours and presents great opportunities to observe several species. Home to four resident and three migratory species, the Strait of Gibraltar is one of Europe’s top cetacean destinations. The Bottlenose Dolphin, Striped Dolphin, Pilot Whale and Common Dolphin are year round residents, while the Sperm Whale, Fin Whale and Orca can be seen as they travel through, or arrive to feed in the Strait of Gibraltar.

We can guarantee a 95% success rate in seeing at least one of the four resident species.

For bookings and queries please email info@birdingtarifa.es (we check our inbox several times per day) or call us 48 to 72 hours before departure at our office +34 650 46 10 41 / +34 633 539126. As the safety of boat activities depends on weather conditions, occasionally the trip must be cancelled due to excessive wind. We advise you to contact us one day before your trip.

We recommend bringing sunscreen, hat, coat and comfortable shoes. Motion sickness medicine taken prior to departure is advisable for those prone to the issue.
